Everest Global, Ltd. is seeking to add an Investment Risk Associate to the Investment Team, headquartered in Warren, New Jersey. 

The Investment Risk Associate will report to the SVP of Core Portfolio Management and join a small group of talented individuals that work in a collegial and supportive environment. 

The Associate will be focused on building out and maintaining a robust, multi-asset risk and reporting framework in conjunction with the Head of Investment Analytics and Risk Management. A successful candidate will need good communication skills, a strong quantitative and programming background, familiarity with financial markets and investment instruments and the ability to drive results. 

Responsibilities

  • Investment Risk and Reporting Database

    • Coordinate with IT, custodians, external providers and internal departments to ensure proper flow of data to feed the investment reporting database

    • Work with investment operations to maintain the Security Master File

    • Build and maintain data transformation / enhancement logic for ingestion of accounting, position, trade and market data into the database

    • Maintain overall integrity of data

  • Reporting

    • Produce periodic risk and positioning reports for internal reporting purposes

    • Conduct ad-hoc portfolio positioning or risk analysis

    • Liase with accounting and other departments to ensure consistency across different financial reports

  • Risk analytics

    • Maintain and develop position and risk analytics across fixed income, alternative and equity asset classes

  • Stress testing

    • Assist in maintaining stress test scenarios

    • Assist in conducting annual stress tests for statutory, regulatory, rating agency or reporting purposes

Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a quantitative finance or data science role preferred. Strong entry-level candidates will also be considered

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving approach

  • Well organized, diligent, and self-motivated

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

  • Broad understanding of investment vehicles across various asset classes. Deep understanding of credit, structured products, and illiquid assets a strong plus.

  • Proficient in Value-at-Risk, probability, statistics and quantitative reasoning

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel data analysis, including lookups and pivot tables

  • Proficient in Databricks or similar database software and SQL

  • Proficient in Python or similar programming language(s)

  • Experience with Bloomberg and/or Aladdin preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantitative Finance, Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred
