Associate Investment Operations Analyst

About the Role:
Morningstar's Investment Management South Africa is seeking an Associate Investment Operations Analyst to join our investment operations team. We are looking for an assertive, detail-oriented, self-starter who can work effectively in a highly collaborative team setting. In this role you will support with the day-to-day investment operations tasks. The ideal candidate has excellent organisation and time management skills, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. This position is based in our Cape Town office and reports to the Head of Operations, South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily tasks, including cash flow allocation processing, pre- and post-trade compliance checks, trade execution processing, and cash/position reconciliation.
• Maintain model portfolios on multiple platforms.
• Implement portfolio rebalances and reallocations, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
• Generate daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting, including but not limited to NAV reporting, Factsheets, Commentary, AUM reporting, Client reporting.
• Manage the fee calculation and invoicing process with the relevant parties.
• Provide support with client and service provider onboarding, ensuring smooth integration into operations.
• Provide support with managing and maintaining investment and operational databases and tools.
• Take ownership of internal and external queries, resolving them promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong client and provider relationships.
• Continuously assess and improve operational processes to mitigate risk and increase efficiency.
• Update and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and workflows.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and a passion for the financial services industry.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in an Investment Operations or Fund Administration role preferred.
• Sound understanding of the SA investment and platform industry.
• Excel (including Macro/VBA) knowledge would be highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Morningstar Direct, Tableau, and Salesforce is advantageous.
