Assist in managing and supporting IT infrastructure solutions, leveraging technical knowledge. Contribute to the implementation of innovative systems to support the organization's evolving needs. Helps analyze complex systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. Support large-scale projects and ensure the integrity and security of the IT environment. Aid in integrating new solutions to enhance organizational capabilities. Develop proficiency in hypervisors, enterprise storage, backup systems, secure file transfer protocols, and database management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science OR four (4) years of experience as a systems engineer, storage admin or database administrator is required.
2. Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in current position in order to qualify for promotion within IT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. UNIX: Experience with the design and implementation of Physical and Virtual Enterprise and Midrange level Windows/UNIX/LINUX Servers including IBM Midrange Servers. Experience with the design and implementation of complex HA clusters including IBM PowerHA. Experience with Logical Volume Manager (LVM) including the optimal design and implementation of Volume Groups, Logical Volumes and File Systems. Ability to monitor and optimize system performance as it relates to end-user application response time. Ability to assist in the development complex UNIX scripts to maintain, test and monitor the system health and automate tasks. Ability to assist in the design, implementation and monitoring the transfer of encrypted PHI data between external locations using SSL, SSH, FTPS and SFTP.
2. Database: Experience with the design and implementation of Enterprise Database systems. Ability to assist in the design and optimize system configuration to minimize implementation cost while maximizing system performance including Oracle and CACHE. Ability to assist in the monitoring of database performance and to make recommendations to maximize end user response time.
3. Enterprise Storage System: Experience with EMC Storage Products including VMAX, Clarion, Celerra, VNX and Isilon storage production. Experience should include but not be limited to SRDF/S, SRDF/A, Recover Point, PowerPath, Solutions Enabler, Time-Finder Clone, SNAP-VIEW Clone, Unisphere and Cisco MDS Family of Switches.
4. Enterprise Backup: Experience with IBM TSM Backup Solutions to back-up the following: Operating Systems, Databases, and Applications.

1. System Analysis and Administration: Assist in conducting system analyses and designing functions within clinical and business domains. Support the adjustment of procedures to address issues, including hardware and software capacities, operational efficiency. Help identify opportunities and devise innovative solutions for business/clinical scenarios.
2. Problem Identification and Resolution: Assist in overseeing daily production issues and escalate appropriately for follow-up. Prepare and execute complex test scripts, ensuring proper documentation of issues and requests as per policy. Help diagnose issues and devise interventions to resolve unplanned system outages, ensuring swift restoration of system availability and performance during crises.
3. System Management: Support the evaluation, management, and documentation of operational performance, and assist in diagnosing and resolving incidents for systems or processes. Help with the installation and maintenance of operating systems and application server configurations on AIX, Linux, and Windows servers, including virtualization management. Participate in vendor demonstrations, reference calls, site visits, and RFP/RFI activities as required.
4. Project Coordination: Assist in determining work effort estimates and appropriate milestones for technical components. Attend vendor calls and support major upgrades to applications or systems and help develop test plans aligned with the entire workflow and health system. Contribute to developing plans for and executing environment implementations, including detailed steps and activities with identified ownership and execution timing.
5. Team Building: Support team collaboration and consistency in process execution, potentially creating new processes and procedures as needed. Function as a mentor for junior team members.
6. Training & Education: Attend training sessions for team members and assist in mentoring them on technical and customer service skills. Participate in strategic planning for organizational initiatives and provide technical support in system training environments.
7. Leadership: Demonstrate curiosity in improving processes, applications, and customer requests. Stay updated on national healthcare and IT trends and provide insights and guidance to internal teams and customers.
8. Adherence to Policies: Follow established policies of the organization and relevant entities where assigned to work or employed.
9. On-call Responsibilities: Accept on-call duties and respond promptly as per department policy, either by phone or on-site.
10. Technology Adoption: Support the team in adopting new development tools and techniques.
11. Strategic Planning: Assist in technology optimization and implementation timelines. Help create and maintain technical roadmaps to guide the evolution of system infrastructure and technologies.
12. Backend Administration: Assist in managing backend hardware, including EMR/Financial Data, Windows Servers, AIX, Unix/Linux, and block/file level storage.
13. Backup Technology Design: Support the management of enterprise backup technologies for user files and server infrastructure using enterprise backup systems. Help manage DR environment/configuration projects and/or other data center operations projects.
14. Technical Roadmap Development: Assist in developing technical roadmaps aligned with organizational strategic initiatives and organic growth. Offer insights into health system strategies and roadmaps, identifying potential conflicts, barriers, and opportunities with partnering technologies.
15. Storage Analysis: Assist in managing enterprise storage solutions, encompassing both Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems, to effectively store and retrieve data. Perform regular analysis of storage capacity and growth trends to accommodate the evolving needs of the company, ensuring scalability and efficiency. This includes evaluating and optimizing flash storage technologies for enhanced performance and responsiveness.
16. Hyperconverged Solutions: Support the management of hyperconverged solutions to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization using leading vendor technology, including but not limited to AHV, Hyper-V, VMware, etc.
17. EMR Management/Upgrade Coordination: Assist in managing backend infrastructure and hardware for EMR systems. Help coordinate bi-annual EMR upgrades and test disaster recovery failover plans.
18. Secure File Transfer: Assist in managing secure file transfer protocols (SFTP) for data exchange between internal and external systems, ensuring data security and integrity.
19. Security and Updates: Assist in managing operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes for production and test servers (Windows, AIX, and Linux).
20. Actively participate in ensuring the organization meets the requirements and competencies necessary to achieve "Most Wired" status, attain Epic Gold Star metrics, and earn placement on the Epic Honor Roll, as defined by leadership.
