Associate, Insurance (CTP litigation)

A leading national insurance practice is looking to appoint an Associate to join its high-performing Brisbane insurance litigation team.

This role offers broad exposure across CTP, motor vehicle, statutory classes and personal injury matters, acting for insurers on a mix of high-volume and complex claims. It’s an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys hands-on litigation, values strong client relationships, and wants to continue building depth in defendant insurance work.

The Opportunity

You’ll work as part of a large, specialist insurance team with deep industry expertise, supporting insurers across a wide range of personal injury and motor-related matters. The practice handles everything from straightforward claims through to complex liability disputes and serious injury matters, providing genuine variety and strong technical development.

Matters include compulsory third party claims, motor vehicle property damage disputes, workers’ compensation, public liability, occupiers’ liability and policy interpretation issues.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing insurance litigation matters with appropriate supervision
  
• Acting for insurers in CTP, motor vehicle and statutory class claims
  
• Reviewing files and preparing clear, practical advices
  
• Drafting court documents, statements of evidence and correspondence
  
• Communicating directly with insurer clients and other stakeholders
  
• Appearing in court for procedural matters and hearings
  
• Managing files efficiently and meeting key deadlines
  
• Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers as the team continues to grow
  

About You

This role will suit a lawyer who brings:

• At least 3 years’ PAE
  
• Experience in defendant insurance litigation, personal injury or general litigation
  
• Exposure to CTP, motor vehicle, workers’ compensation or public liability claims (preferred, not essential)
  
• Strong drafting and communication skills
  
• A practical, problem-solving mindset
  
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy practice
  
• A collaborative approach and interest in long-term development within insurance law
