Your Team
The Investment Accounting Group (IAG) delivers accounting and regulatory reporting services to insurance clients that have outsourced their investment accounting function. The team prepares and oversees accounting, regulatory, and statutory reporting while partnering with clients to support business changes, regulatory developments, and platform enhancements. IAG is also focused on expanding asset class coverage and enhancing its accounting operating model through continued investment in technology and process innovation.
Your Role and Impact
As an Investment Accounting Associate, you will support the delivery of high-quality accounting and reporting services for institutional insurance clients. You will analyze accounting results, perform reconciliations and controls, support regulatory reporting requirements, and work collaboratively with clients and internal partners to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This role offers exposure to complex investment products, evolving accounting standards, and opportunities to contribute to operational and technology-driven improvements.
Your Responsibilities
Analyze investment accounting data and provide commentary on financial results and reporting outcomes.
Prepare, review, and distribute accounting packages, financial reports, and supporting schedules within established deadlines.
Perform data validation, reconciliations, and control reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of reported information.
Complete quarterly regulatory reconciliations and coordinate follow-up activities through resolution.
Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
Address daily client information requests and provide responsive, high-quality service.
Review daily accounting exceptions and drive timely investigation and resolution.
Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and technology enhancements that strengthen the client experience and operating model.
Maintain awareness of accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and industry developments to support compliant reporting practices.
Your Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in investment accounting, fund accounting, financial reporting, or a related investment operations function preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, and investment products.
Knowledge of reporting frameworks such as GAAP, Statutory Accounting, IFRS, UK GAAP, or Canadian GAAP.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate results.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with SQL is preferred.
Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
Knowledge of insurance-related reporting, including U.S. Statutory reporting, Solvency II, or IFRS, is a plus.
