The Associate II, Bursar will work directly with the learners to ensure the accuracy of all learner accounts. The incumbent will coordinate payments with learners, and maintain all payment and fee information for the learner to help support their completion of the program. The Associate II, Bursar will serve as the first point of contact for Associate I, Bursar, and escalated learner concerns.

Coordinates with learners to maintain on-time payments of tuition and fees

Posts payments from all funding sources into the ledger

Posts relevant fees manually into the student information system (SIS)

Updates learner accounts to reflect refunds

Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments.

Updates the SIS to reflect payments and ensure the accuracy of the ledger

Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise

Some college is required an associate degree in accounting/finance from an accredited institution is preferred

Demonstrated at least two years of experience as an Associate Bursar

Demonstrated two years of experience with entry-level or basic Accounting/Finance is required

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is required

Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals are required

Demonstrated one year of experience in the customer service field is strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, graphs are preferred

Some experience at a higher institution of learning preferred

Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable is preferred
Skills Required
- Some college (associate degree in accounting/finance preferred)
- At least two years of experience as an Associate Bursar
- Two years of entry-level or basic Accounting/Finance experience
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide; fractions and decimals)
- One year of customer service experience
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and work with graphs
- Experience at a higher education institution
- Experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable
