Morning Brew Inc. is looking for an Associate, Go-to-Market Strategy to help build the materials and sponsorships our sales team uses to sell advertising across newsletters, podcasts, social video, events, and custom content.
This is a role for someone at the start of their career who is very good at building decks and wants to learn the business of media from the inside out. You will spend your days turning ideas, research, and editorial capabilities into clean, clear, persuasive slides and packages that sellers rely on to win business.
We care much more about how you think and what you can build than where you have worked before. If you have never touched media before but you can organize a story and make a slide sing, we want to see your work and encourage you to apply.
Morning Brew Inc. is based in New York City but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates. The team is flexible on where this candidate is located. This position will report to the Director, Go-to-Market Strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Updating and maintaining our library of sales decks, keeping audience data, case studies, franchise details, and creative examples accurate and current so no seller is ever pitching with a stale slide.
Turning rough inputs into finished slides, whether that means a set of notes from a brainstorm, a research report, or a paragraph from Editorial about what a franchise does best.
Supporting new franchise, product, and sponsorship launches by helping assemble launch decks, one-sheets, and internal sales communications.
Managing incoming requests from the sales team, tracking what is in the queue, and turning work around quickly and cleanly.
Keeping our asset repositories organized and easy to navigate so sellers can find what they need on their own.
Pulling research to support the sell, including audience insights, category trends, and competitive context, and flagging where a number came from every time.
Sitting in on brainstorms and cross-functional meetings as a contributor, not just a note-taker. Good ideas count here regardless of tenure.
Working hand in hand with partners across Editorial, Insights and Analytics, Creative Strategy, Events, and Pricing to gather what a project needs, and showing up in brainstorms and cross-functional meetings as a contributor rather than a note-taker.
Helping bring our creator, social, and multimedia offerings to market, learning to represent each franchise authentically and in a way that’s sellable.
Owning smaller projects end to end as you ramp, from the first draft through the moment it reaches sellers, including getting reps in front of the sales team to walk through what you built, enable and answer questions on it.
Supporting the GTM team on larger strategic initiatives like packaging, pricing, and planning, so you are seeing how the strategy gets made while you help build the output. The goal is for you to grow into that work over time, not just assist with it.
Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
1-2 years of professional experience. Media, agency, marketing, consulting, journalism, sales, or something else entirely all work if the skills are there.
Real deck-building ability. This is the heart of the role. You can build a presentation that has a clear structure, a logical build, and slides someone could follow without you standing next to them explaining it.
A talent for organizing messy thinking into something simple. Give you a scattered set of ideas and you come back with an outline that makes sense.
Strong writing skills, with an eye for the difference between a headline that lands and one that just fills the space.
Preferred: firsthand experience in the creator or social video world. Publisher or agency counts. So does personal experience.
Serious attention to detail. Typos, mismatched fonts, and outdated stats are the kind of thing that bothers you before anyone points it out.
Resourcefulness. When you hit a wall, you find another way through, whether that is digging through past decks, asking the right person, or teaching yourself the tool.
A collaborative, low-ego approach. You take feedback well, you ask questions early instead of guessing, and people enjoy working with you.
Comfort in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and multiple requests land at once.
Strong Google Slides skills, plus PowerPoint, and the rest of G-Suite. Basic design instincts are a must.
Curiosity about media, advertising, and how the business behind the content actually works.
Passion for Morning Brew Inc.'s editorial brands and mission.
