Job Summary:
The Associate General Counsel I will perform delegated legal tasks for more senior attorneys of the CareSource Legal team, which may include, but are not limited to, those tasks essential responsibilities and functions listed below.
Essential Functions:
- Provide support to other attorneys on the CareSource Legal team
- Responsible for a variety of subject matters areas, with oversight by more senior attorneys
- Perform legal research and prepare legal memorandums for clients and legal team
- Assist with preparing and maintaining the company’s licensing and regulatory filings, manage software addressing same
- Where required, manage CareSource administrative hearings arising from its government programs contracts
- Monitor and summarize legal and regulatory developments, including statutes and regulations governing Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Marketplace plans
- Review and revise company policies, procedures, and other internal corporate documents
- Assist with resolving legal disputes involving the company
- Attend legal and business meetings at the direction of other lawyers on the CareSource legal team
- Perform other job duties as requested.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college/university is required
- Exceptional law school graduates that gained practical experience in managed care could be considered, but at least one (1) year of practicing law at a law firm or in-house corporate environment is preferred
- Experience in healthcare and/or managed care law is preferred

Licensure and Certification:
- Current, unrestricted Attorney license is required. However, if a recent graduate, proof of sitting for a bar.
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:
$81,400.00 - $130,200.00CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
