Job Description
The Firmwide Control Management mission is to solidify an effective control framework within and across the lines of business by identifying and remediating control issues with a sense of urgency, regardless of the source. The Firmwide Control Management team will work collaboratively with other control disciplines and will oversee existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. This process will enable the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.
Job Summary
As a Data Management Associate within the Meta Data Management team in the Controls Room, will serve as a part of the Meta Data Management team within Controls Room, responsible for supporting the onboarding and maintenance of data related to the Firmwide Operational Risk platforms and related ecosystem. Role will support the work stream lead to gather, analyze, document, communicate and validate Business and Reporting metadata for all on boarded topics in line with the Basel 239 requirements
Job responsibilities
  • Engage with Product Owners to gather information on Business and Reporting concepts being onboarded, as necessary
  • Review and analyze metadata information captured in RDHP (Meta Data Management system) to ensure that they meet minimum metadata management requirements and guidelines
  • Refine Business concepts and reporting labels along with their descriptions and review with stakeholders in line with guidelines and standards
  • Engage with Product Owners and Technology counterparts to capture and maintain Business and Technical lineage for attributes for data traceability
  • Follow-up with various stakeholders on open queries and additional information to close them out within targeted timelines
  • Generate Business Glossary artifacts for BCBS 239 purposes along with submission
  • Provide scorecards, metrics, and management reports to stakeholders (e.g. senior management, line management, LOB/Functions) as necessary on the overall status of metadata management
  • Ensuring accurate and timely escalation and resolution of all inquiries
  • Identify opportunities to automate metadata management process using tools of the future
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and generate data extracts using Databricks and SQL

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Master's degree in Business Management/ Finance or bachelor's degree in Commerce/ Accounts or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience with 2 years of Data Management or related experience.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of Data governance framework, Data quality & Data lineage
  • Have understanding of data structures, data models, schemas, and taxonomies
  • Experience using Metadata management tools such as RDHP and Jade Catalog
  • Demonstrate understanding of Data Management activities such business definition for data attributes, understand Business terms usage for reporting and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure completeness of Data Artifacts
  • Understanding of ETL processes and how data is transformed
  • Strong SQL skills along with knowledge of Database management platforms (e.g. Databricks)
  • Proficiency in Tableau/Alteryx and knowledge of Python or Java to automate metadata management processes, such as metadata validation and enrichment
  • Intermediate knowledge on MS office suite
