YOUR ROLE

The Model Risk Team manages model risk for the US Life Insurance division, Investment function, CareScout and Corporate segment. As an Associate Financial Risk Analyst, you will work as part of this team with a focus on model governance and support the model inventory process, issue tracking and management reporting. You will also support the implementation and management of a new GRC tool to manage model governance. Participate in and potentially lead model validations for non-actuarial models or input / output validation for actuarial models. Support a comprehensive assessment of model risk across models and processes that rely on models. You will partner with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line resources to collaborate on work, develop insights, assess model risk and recommend actions to mitigate risk.

What you will be doing

  • Support the model governance process over the model inventory, issue tracking and management reporting
  • Support the expanded model inventory identification process
  • Support the implementation and management of a GRC tool to capture model inventory, issue tracking and management reporting
  • Support the Annual Model Risk Management Framework update
  • Participate and potentially lead in end-to-end model validations including input data, model output, transfers/ handoffs between models and business processes
  • Participate and potentially lead model validations for non-actuarial models
  • Cultivate relationships and channels of communication across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line teams to build risk culture, promote model risk management, share in best practices and provide independent perspective on initiatives and issues related to modeling
  • Contribute to development of the model risk management program through independent learning, on job experience and collaboration with the team, model owners and other lines
  • May be involved with artificial intelligence governance, analysis or risk reviews

Nice to have

  • Experience in a Risk, Finance, Audit or IT role - Finance strongly preferred
  • Model Risk Management or Enterprise Risk Management experience
  • Experience implementing or using a GRC Tool
  • Governance and controls background
  • Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Familiarity with Actuarial processes and practices

For the State of New York:

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $58,500 up to the maximum of $102,700. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 7% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
