We are seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Business Intelligence professional to serve as the dedicated BI partner for Corporate SG&A functions at Hut 8. This role sits within the Business Intelligence organization and partners directly with functional department leaders to move those teams from data delivery to decision-enabling insight.
The Associate will be expected to go beyond reporting what the data says. The standard for this role is to surface insight, recommend a course of action, and articulate the expected outcome — equipping leadership with clear, decision-ready intelligence across cost drivers, headcount, vendor spend, and operational efficiency. This role is expected to leverage AI tools and modern analytics platforms to build always-on intelligence, not static reports.
Key Responsibilities

SG&A Performance Monitoring & Variance Analysis

  • Analyze actual spend against approved budgets across all Corporate SG&A cost domains, identifying and articulating key variance drivers across people costs, professional services, technology, and T&E.
  • Develop and maintain forward-looking cost forecasts, including reforecast cycles, that translate variance trends into a recommended view on full-year outcomes.
  • Build interactive dashboards that surface cost trends proactively, reducing reliance on manual report generation and enabling faster decision cycles.

Decision-Ready Insight Delivery

  • Translate data findings into a clear narrative: a starting point, a realistic range, and a defensible recommendation – not just a summary of what happened.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand their operating context and ensure BI outputs are calibrated to their actual decision needs.
  • Own the cadence of regular reporting for assigned SG&A functions, including monthly performance packages and ad hoc analysis in support of leadership decisions.

Process Improvement, Tooling & Standardization

  • Develop standardized reporting frameworks and forecasting templates across assigned SG&A cost domains.
  • Document and share tooling and process improvements across the BI team to build organizational leverage.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, FP&A, or corporate finance, with meaningful exposure to SG&A cost structures and functional department partnering.
  • Demonstrated interest in or experience with AI tools, analytics platforms, and automated reporting — comfort building new processes from scratch, not just maintaining existing ones.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with BI or dashboarding tools; familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms preferred.
  • Strong communicator who can translate complex data into a clear narrative for non-finance audiences — and who holds themselves to the standard of recommending a path of action, not just presenting findings.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to reconcile complex datasets and ensure integrity across budgets, forecasts, and actuals.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • Master's or advanced degree
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A, capital planning, project finance or corporate finance
  • Experience supporting capital-intensive projects (construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, real estate)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling, including dynamic forecasting and cash flow modeling
  • Detail-oriented with ability to reconcile complex datasets and ensure integrity between budgets, forecasts and actuals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
