Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.

Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.

How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.

Lloyd’s are recruiting for an Associate, FC&C Advisory to join our Financial Crime & Compliance (FC&C) team. This is an opportunity to build your expertise across financial crime and compliance while making a meaningful contribution to the resilience and reputation of Lloyd's. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, supporting assurance reviews, risk assessments, advisory activities and strategic projects across the Corporation. As part of our second line of defence, you'll help us identify, assess and manage financial crime and compliance risks, providing insight, challenge and support that enables the business to make informed decisions and do the right thing.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the delivery of FC&C objectives through a variety of advisory, assurance and risk management activities, including:

  • Supporting the execution of the FC&C Assurance and Advisory programme across Lloyd's.
  • Participating in financial crime and compliance reviews, risk assessments and control testing activities.
  • Assessing the design and effectiveness of controls that manage financial crime and compliance risks.
  • Providing analysis, reporting and management information to support decision-making and governance.
  • Supporting FC&C projects and workstreams that strengthen our risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Working with colleagues across the business to help embed effective financial crime and compliance standards.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to discussions on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Supporting communications and briefing activities relating to UK regulatory engagement.
  • Identifying emerging risks and escalating issues through established governance processes.

You'll gain exposure to a broad range of financial crime risks, including:

  • Anti-money laundering
  • Sanctions
  • Fraud
  • Bribery and corruption
  • Market abuse and insider dealing
  • Tax evasion and failure to prevent tax evasion
  • Terrorist financing

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who's curious, collaborative and keen to develop their career in financial crime and compliance.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience within Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, Audit or another oversight or control environment.
  • Knowledge of risk management, governance, assurance or monitoring activities.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and contributing to technical discussions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  •

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Knowledge of the Lloyd's market, insurance or financial services sector.
  • Experience supporting projects or workstreams.
  • Exposure to compliance reviews, assurance testing or control assessments.
  • An ICA qualification, or an equivalent Financial Crime or Compliance qualification.
  • If you don't currently hold a qualification, we'll support your development and help you continue building your expertise.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
