About you:

Join our Global Finance Platforms team as a Finance Systems Apprentice and kickstart your career at the intersection of technology, finance, and AI. You'll be part of a Global team managing finance systems across a £1 billion+ revenue software company. This is a genuine opportunity to learn from the ground up, you'll gain hands-on experience with enterprise finance software including Access Dimensions, Access FocalPoint, and OneStream, while developing technical, business, and AI skills that will set you up for a long-term career in modern finance systems.

Day-to-day, you will:  

  • Technical & AI Skill Development: Build strong SQL capabilities—from fundmentals to complex queries—and learn to use AI tools for troubleshooting, documentation, analysis, and automation.
  • Operational Support & Issue Resolution: Manage internal support tickets, resolve system issues, maintain finance system accuracy, and assist with configuration and testing activities.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Create AI‑enhanced user guides, process documentation, and training materials while identifying opportunities to improve system performance and user experience.
  • Collaboration, Projects & Career Growth: Contribute to system upgrades, enhancements, and M&A integrations; collaborate with experienced team members; receive mentorship; and grow toward specialist and senior roles.

 

Your skills and experiences might also include:   

  • Foundational Education & Learning Mindset: A‑levels (or equivalent) with a strong willingness to learn new tools and technologies, including experimenting with AI tools and learning from mistakes.
  • Technical Aptitude: Curiosity about technology, databases, AI, and how systems work; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and solid general IT skills; any exposure to data analysis, coding/scripting, or SQL is a bonus.
  • Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong logical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to spot patterns; interest in finance or business processes is advantageous.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with confidence working with people across the business, plus any experience using AI tools (such as Copilot or ChatGPT) is desirable.
