About Flint

Flint is a leading boutique strategy consultancy that advises senior executives from some of the largest corporations, financial institutions and investors, globally. With offices in London, Brussels, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore, we operate at the intersection of government and business, helping our clients navigate political, policy, and regulatory changes to achieve commercial outcomes.

We offer a collaborative, dynamic, and intellectually stimulating environment where our people can grow personally and professionally while delivering meaningful impact for our clients. Our areas of expertise span various sectors, including financial services, energy, digital infrastructure, and technology.

The role entails advising clients on the implications of EU political and policy developments for their business, with a particular focus on digital policies. It will offer you the opportunity to work with some world’s largest companies in tech and beyond, across a range of issues including AI, copyright and audiovisual media services, content moderation, online advertising, cybersecurity, data flows, competition and digital sustainability. By joining Flint’s team of EU policy experts, you will also have the opportunity to develop experience in a broader range of sectors including sustainability, energy & climate, transport, trade and healthcare.

Flint is a business advisory. We help our clients succeed in an increasingly complex world, managing risk and creating opportunity. We provide advice at the point where government and business meet, offering an authoritative perspective on both. We are experts in policy, political analysis, regulation and competition. Members of our multi- national team have experience of working at the most senior levels in European governments, the EU Commission, regulatory agencies, competition bodies and the private sector. We support companies who face the challenges of regulatory and policy change at national, European and international levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Management: Lead day-to-day management of key client accounts, ensuring the delivery of top-tier advice on tech policy issues, and building long-term client relationships.
  • Digital and Tech Policy Expertise: Provide strategic insights on a wide range of policy issues such as online safety, AI adoption and regulation, date use, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, helping clients navigate these complex landscapes.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee the management of client projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs. Supervise the work of junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to Flint's growth by expanding our client base. Work with senior leadership to create thought leadership material and present at industry events.
  • People Development: Mentor and coach junior consultants, supporting their career development and building capability within the team.
  • Strategic Contributions: Collaborate with senior leadership to shape policy strategy and ensure alignment with wider business goals.

Skills and Experience:

  • Track record demonstrating interest, knowledge and experience in EU digital policy, ideally with a specific focus on privacy, data, platform and content moderation policy.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, research and problem-solving skills – ability to draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice.
  • Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge.
  • Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists.
  • Good project management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, plan and schedule complex tasks proactively – comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with internal colleagues and external clients.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required, knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.

Our values and what we offer:

Flint’s clients expect the highest quality advice, delivered in a way that is timely and actionable. Within Flint, we expect all our colleagues to reflect our values:

  • We deliver excellent work for our clients;
  • We are commercial and entrepreneurial;

What We Do

We help our clients succeed in an increasingly complex world by providing advice at the point where government and business meet, with an authoritative perspective on both. Members of our expert multi-national team have worked at very senior levels in the British and other European governments, the EU Commission, regulatory agencies, competition bodies and the private sector. We support companies facing the challenges of political, regulatory and policy change. This includes political and economic management of mergers, acquisitions and other transactions; the design and delivery of efficient regulatory regimes; and how to maximise the value of investor assets. Our clients come from many countries and operate in many sectors, including digital, tech, telecoms, media, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, transport and energy. Drawing on deep understanding of the issues and the processes of decision making, we craft evidence-based arguments, concrete policy proposals and practical engagement plans to help them achieve their commercial goals. Our Headquarters are in London. We have teams in Brussels and the Netherlands, and a permanent presence in several other European capitals
