Job Description
The Pricing & Market Access Associate Director BE/NL will work in close collaboration and cross-functionally with our local commercial, medical, public affairs, and regulatory colleagues, in addition to our local Finance and HEOR teams, to help develop and execute market access strategies supporting optimal reimbursement for our high-value medicines portfolio. This role would need to represent Vertex Value of "Enterprise Thinking" as well as the Value of "Drive breakthrough Results".
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports Global payer strategic planning and execution to advance value and access optimization
Drive HTA activities in Belgium and the Netherlands successfully in line with the international guidance and GVD
Supports the development of Market Access strategies and core pricing & access deliverables operating within the Global Commercial model
Drives innovative activities to understand different stakeholder perspectives to inform market access strategy
Integrates regional payer strategic planning and execution into national plans to advance value and access optimization
Ensures the payer position is consistently represented to internal cross-functional stakeholders and ensure robust strategic input into commercialization and development decisions
Ensures robust value proposition and integrated evidence plans are optimized to support nation-wide market access and reimbursement
Contributes to strategies and forecasts with in-depth market research, environmental data & analogs
Works across multiple stakeholders to ensure consistency of messaging while taking into consideration localized nuances
Responsible for all phases of lifecycle management from pipeline planning to post reimbursement optimization
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of navigating the drug reimbursement pathway and negotiating with stakeholders for both BE/NL
Experience negotiating with public and private insurers (support reimbursement preparation) in high-value medicines.
Ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations
Strong practical, quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of how to successfully apply pricing & reimbursement / HEOR principles
Exhibits outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within Vertex
Relationship building at all levels within the organization and across geographies including GAPP (governmental and public affairs), commercial strategy and corporate communications teams
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate difficult concepts and persuade others
Experience with hospital formulary decision making an asset
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Extensive experience for Market Access and HEOR in high-value medicines.
