Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director of Project and Change Management to join our Digital Transformation team within the Technology, Digitalization, and Computational Sciences Research group. This role will be instrumental in driving the successful adoption of digital solutions across our research organization by combining robust change management practices with strong project management capabilities.
The ideal candidate will help lead cross-functional initiatives, develop and execute strategic roadmaps, and oversee the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure measurable impact. You will work closely with research scientists, function leads, and senior leadership to align transformation efforts with organizational goals and ensure readiness for change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Change Management
- Develop and implement targeted change management strategies to support digital transformation initiatives.
- Design and deliver communication plans that effectively convey program goals, progress, and outcomes to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Partner with scientific and functional leaders to assess readiness, identify resistance, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support the creation of training materials and upskilling frameworks for new digital tools and platforms.
- Project Management & Strategic Execution
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex digital transformation projects across Research functions.
- Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps that align digital initiatives with scientific and business priorities.
- Establish and manage project governance structures, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.
- Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with analytics teams to define, track, and report on KPIs that measure the impact and success of transformation efforts.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and refine strategies.
- Implement feedback loops and continuous improvement mechanisms to enhance project outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 6+ years experience
- or MS with 12+ years experience
- or BS with 14+ years experience
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in change management, communications, and digital transformation within a scientific or R&D environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects with measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of scientific research workflows and digital technologies in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Expertise in Agile project management methodologies
- Experience in KPI development, tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- The position will be based in Cambridge, MA. This position is currently classified as "hybrid" by Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$153,600.00 - $241,340.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
