Within Rabobank Hong Kong, Syndicated Loans Agency is a commercially focused department supporting the Asia region acting on behalf of Lenders as a Facility and Security Agent and as the intermediary between Lenders and Borrowers for Agency transactions.
The role of Team Head, Syndicated Loans Agency leads the Agency team with a strong focus on service delivery to the Syndicate striving for a high standard of service quality due to the contribution to revenue which is heavily reliant on reputation.
As a Loans & Agency specialist and Team Head, the primary responsibilities of the role includes:
• Leadership of the Syndicated Loans Agency team
• Provide technical Portfolio Management support for Agency activities across the region
• Develop strong relationships with Agency Operations in the Global Service Centre
• Establish and develop strong relationships with borrowers and syndicated banks
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• To provide administrative and documentary supports in managing a Syndicate Loan portfolio position where Rabobank acts as the Facility and/or Security Agent
• Review and provide comment on draft documentation and negotiate with relevant parties in the capacity of the Agent
• Handle technical tasks in Syndicated Loans Agency (e.g. waivers, amendment, default, etc)
• Monitor and follow up covenant and condition subsequent documents
• Handle and safe keep original documentation for Agency Facilities
• Liaise and develop the network with both internal and external parties regarding Syndicated Loans Agency activities
• Develop team members, sharing knowledge and skills which assist in the growth and expertise of others
• Prepare the KPI report and ad-hoc MIS reporting as requested by management
• Handle UAT for any system enhancements and/or other project assignments as required
• Take on other duties from time to time as assigned by Dept Head
Skills Required
- Leadership and team management experience in syndicated loans or agency operations
- Experience managing syndicated loan agency activities (facility/security agent duties)
- Technical knowledge of loan documentation, waivers, amendments, defaults and covenant monitoring
- Ability to review, comment on, and negotiate loan documentation with lenders and borrowers
- Experience with portfolio management and administrative oversight of syndicated loan positions
- Stakeholder management skills with internal global service centres and external counterparties
- Experience preparing KPI reports and ad-hoc MIS reporting
- Experience participating in UAT for system enhancements and managing project assignments
- Document control and safekeeping experience for original facility documentation
- Coaching, knowledge sharing, and team development capabilities
