General Summary:
This position is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, execution, and delivery of talent acquisition for executive level (VP and above) roles across all functions globally for Vertex.
As an integral member of the Executive Search Center of Excellence (CoE) within Global Talent Acquisition, you will implement effective search strategies and solutions, enabling the businesses to obtain the best and most diverse talent to advance science and transform lives. You will leverage internal and external resources for external talent mapping, labor market insights, and leadership assessment in all stages of the executive search process as a talent advisor to the businesses and HR counterparts. You will also build and extend the global network of executive talent to meet our current and future needs. You will nurture and manage 3rd party executive search relationships where appropriate.
With an enterprise mindset, you will work alongside the Global Head of Executive Search to further develop processes and best practices as the Executive Search function matures. You will also seek opportunities to collaborate with the broader TA teams and HR colleagues in Total Rewards, Talent Management, Workforce Strategy & Analytics, etc. to drive innovation in recruitment and people practices at Vertex.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the full life cycle recruiting efforts with minimal supervision across Vertex’s enterprise at the VP level and above while providing exceptional experiences for candidates and clients
- Create and communicate robust recruiting strategies, partnering with HRBPs and senior leadership
- Conduct in-depth assessments to deliver comprehensive candidate evaluations and lead or facilitate internal team discussions and debriefs regarding candidates
- Develop competitive offer packages with Compensation partners while following Vertex’s compensation philosophy
- Embed ID&E in the executive search practices to increase the diversity of our candidate pools and hires
- Work seamlessly with the Operations Lead on search/project logistics
- Manage existing external preferred partners and continue to evaluate future preferred partners
- Manage timelines across projects, assessing risks and balancing priorities to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
- Monitor and report on key talent acquisition metrics as well as cost avoidance for the Global Executive Search function
- Leverage Talent Intelligence, Sourcing and Insights, and senior leadership’s network to build robust talent pipelines for business-critical roles and Talent Management needs
- Contribute to the Global Executive Search knowledge base through data stewardship
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience leading executive searches globally in Commercial, Finance, Legal, and IT preferred
- Proven track record of working with complex organizations during periods of growth and change
- Keen business acumen and excellent decision-making abilities
- Data-driven and analytical problem solver
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiar with TA and HR tech stack (Workday, Beamery, Visier, SmartSheet, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of in-house and/or search firm experience recruiting for companies in the life sciences sector

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
