The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Associate Director, Data Product Owner – Analytics & Reporting to join our Data Solutions team reporting to the Director of Data Solutions as we prepare for commercialization. This role will serve as the product lead for analytics and BI engineering, shaping the reporting platform that delivers insights across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Corporate functions.
You will define the product vision and roadmap for our analytics and reporting technology, ensuring stakeholders have access to trusted, actionable insights. This role will focus on scaling our BI infrastructure, enabling automated reporting, and embedding analytics into decision-making. As a core member of the Data Solutions team, you will partner with our Analytics and Insights partners, data engineers, BI developers, external partners, and business leaders to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
The ideal candidate brings experience in product management, analytics platforms, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar), combined with an understanding of pharma commercial and medical data sources. You thrive in building first-time commercial analytics capabilities within an emerging biopharma context. In this role you will call upoin your experience to:
Define and own the technical product roadmap for the analytics and reporting platform.
Partner with stakeholders in Commercial (including Analytics and Insights, Market Access, and Sales Operations), Medical Affairs, and Finance to capture reporting needs and prioritize delivery.
Translate business requirements into user stories, technical designs, and platform specifications for developers.
Oversee the operational design and support for self-service dashboards and standardized reporting packages supporting commercial launch and beyond.
Ensure integration of industry-relevant data sources where relevant to supporting Analytics and Insights.
Provide administration support for key analytics and BI tools.
Champion data governance, visualization best practices, and reporting standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
Collaborate with engineering to build a scalable BI and analytics infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
Promote adoption of reporting tools across functions, providing training, documentation, and support as needed.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business, analytics, information systems, or related field.
11+ year of experiencein Product Ownership, Analytics Product Management or BI leadership roles, including 5+ years of experience in pharma/biotech.
Proven track record building analytics and BI platforms and supporting Commercial or Medical Affairs functions.
Hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker) and data visualization standards.
Knowledge of key pharma commercial data sources, such as sales performance, claims, hub/patient data, CRM data, digital data, and payer coverage.
Oncology or rare disease launch experience, with knowledge of unique reporting requirements for high-touch markets.
Experience managing data and reporting vendors in an emerging pharma setting.
Comfort with SQL or data wrangling to validate reporting logic and data quality.
Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
Experience with modern data platforms and warehouse technology (Databricks preferred).
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps) with Agile/Scrum certification (CSPO, PSPO) or equivalent.
