I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
As an Associate Director of Content Strategy, you're not just shaping content; you're crafting meaningful experiences that bridge the gap between iconic advertisers and engaged consumers. Forget formulaic campaigns – you'll be the creative engine, collaborating with dynamic sales and marketing teams to decode advertiser challenges and anticipate consumer desires in the Food (i.e. Campbell’s, Kerrygold, Kraft Heinz) and Beverage (Coca-Cola, Diageo, Pernod) industries. With concepts that span social, written, video and experiential formats, you will be able to communicate these ideas concisely and impactfully in write-ups for marketing proposals, verbally during client pitches, and work with the creative specialists at DDM Studios to bring them to life in a compelling way.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Content Strategy and will work across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio of over 40 iconic brands, including Food & Wine, PEOPLE, Travel + Leisure, Parents, Real Simple, Byrdie, InStyle and People en Español.
This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
II. Essential Job Functions
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
60% - Oversee custom content on sales opportunities, creating smart, strategic ideas for Lifestyle advertisers
Attend brainstorms, ideate concepts, and deliver write-ups to be integrated into final proposals
Compile and discuss production costs from internal teams (i.e. video, photo, talent costs)
Represent ideated content strategies in pitches with agency and client partners
30% - Act as creative through line from pitch phase through execution
Onboarding in-house production teams on sold concepts
Acting as a creative director throughout the production process
Often representing creative on photo and video shoots, alongside clients
5% - Foster relationships with Food and Bev sales and marketing teams, while ensuring you are up to date on each Dotdash Meredith brand’s unique voice, content products and opportunities
5% - Stay up-to-date on new content formats, trends and platforms and be able to incorporate into client pitches
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
BS/BA or equivalent professional experience
Experience:
7-8 years in a digital/social media environment
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bonus points for content studio, production, creative agency and/or content marketing experience. Not required.
Demonstrated experience and/or interest in Food & Bev industries

Communicative: You have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Creative: You look at the world through a creative lens and are energized by brainstorming sessions with your peers
Connected: Avid consumer of content in its various forms across platforms.
Flexible: This role requires an ability to move between several brands, verticals and sites in various stages of presale and post-sale and, from time to time, cover content strategy needs for other lifestyle verticals

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
