Netflix seeks a talented and business-minded lawyer to join its Advertising Legal team in LATAM as a Legal Associate based in Mexico City. The successful candidate will support a broad range of advertising legal matters across the region, with a particular focus on Advertising Sales, Partner Marketing, and other cross-functional initiatives within the advertising environment.
This role will work closely with other legal teams, ads policy, and business stakeholders to provide practical, solution-oriented advice in support of Netflix’s growing ads business.
Key Responsibilities
Ad Sales
-Provide legal support to the Ads Sales team across LATAM on day-to-day commercial and operational matters.
-Draft, review, and negotiate a range of ad sales-related agreements, including advertiser, agency, media resellers, and related commercial arrangements.
-Advise on legal considerations related to advertising campaigns, sales programs, marketing commitments, and commercial enablement initiatives to be incorporated in deals with clients.
-Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to help assess legal risk and develop practical solutions that support revenue goals.
Support the legal review of advertising materials, disclosures, and other sales-facing content, as needed.
Partnerships
-Advise on legal considerations arising from strategic partnerships involving distribution and promotional materials for Netflix’s partners.
-Work closely with the partnerships team to obtain legal clearance for Netflix titles to launch various business initiatives.
-Identify legal and regulatory flags relevant to creative ideas for partnership projects and help drive practical, business-oriented solutions.
Additional Functions
-Help develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and training materials for the business teams to leverage.
-Monitor and advise on relevant advertising, consumer protection, e-commerce, and digital regulatory developments in LATAM.
-Support new market launches and expansion efforts, including legal readiness for advertising-related initiatives in the region.
-Identify opportunities to improve legal team processes through AI-driven workflow innovation, including tools that increase efficiency, streamline review processes, and support scalable legal operations across the LATAM advertising business.
Requirements
- Law degree.
-4–6 years of experience at an in-house legal department and/or law firm, with relevant experience in advertising, media, technology, or digital products.
- Experience in the entertainment industry is a plus.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Understanding of legal issues and requirements affecting advertising, marketing, consumer-facing claims, and related regulatory matters.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with legal, business, and technical teams at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment to provide practical legal advice, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, proactively, and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical judgment, business acumen, and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to tackle new and unfamiliar issues as the business evolves.
- Experience working on regional or cross-border legal matters is a plus.
