Looking for your next opportunity? We are looking for a high-performing and commercially focused Associate to join our Manchester Corporate Tax Team.
About the role
The role will give you the opportunity to work on cross border, complex and high-value transactions and focus on sectors that interest you. CMS invests heavily in training and legal tech tools, such that you will have excellent opportunities to continue your development as a corporate lawyer.
You will be responsible for a variety of work in a broad-based role including:
- Real Estate, Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, Joint Ventures and Investments
- providing efficient professional support to the senior lawyers within the team
- developing professional client relationships
- supporting the wider team in developing our business and raising the profile of the firm
- involvement in marketing events and other BD activities
- managing and supervising the work of others including trainees
About you
You will have excellent drafting skills, the ability to translate legal theory into practical advice and you will be ambitious and have an entrepreneurial mindset. Due to the role being client facing you will also need to have good interpersonal and business advisory skills. To meet the needs of the role, you will have an appropriate level of post qualification experience in a UK based team. We are looking for a maximum PQE of 4 years.
