National Interstate Insurance is looking for an Associate Communications Representative, part of our Graduate Development Program, to join their team. This individual will work a hybrid schedule out of the Richfield, Ohio office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assists in researching, preparing, and writing articles for internal and/or external communications, which may include general announcements, presentations, newsletters, advertisements, content for internal/external web sites, and/or communications to customers. Ensures communications are appropriate, accurate and grammatically correct. 
  • Assists in confirming and/or reviewing artwork, logos, layout, and visual brand.
  • Assists in distributing materials via multiple media, ensuring compliance with procedures, company policy, and corporate identity.
  • Assists in identifying and documenting customer objectives, audience, standards, timing, budget, and distribution methods. Assists in educating customers about communication review process and procedures.
  • May assist in planning and organizing activities and events for customers or employees relating to trade shows, special promotions, rollouts, product launches, and public/community relations.
  • Assist in maintaining company archives/libraries for photographs, logos, graphics, communications, newsletters, press releases, and other communication materials.
  • May assist in routing and securing appropriate approval.
  • May assist in responding to routine inquiries, requests, concerns, and/or complaints. Refers non-routine inquires to more experienced staff.
  • Develops basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines and agencies pertaining to communications, advertising, and marketing materials.
  • Assist in social media content development, including copywriting and production of supporting images/video, as well as digital marketing implementation and data analysis, including email marketing and SEO management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

During the program you will:

  • Participate in instructor led, self-paced and on-the-job training, gaining a true understanding of what National Interstate does and how your role fits in the big picture.
  • Become immersed in our company by learning our business model and value proposition.
  • Gain exposure to other areas of the business outside of your discipline through interactive presentations from industry experts.
  • Sharpen professional skills through weekly personal development trainings.
  • Develop your professional network with leaders and fellow participants through weekly teambuilding and social activities.

The program is taking place in June 2025. The role will be expected to work in the Richfield, Ohio office.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Field of Study: Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or a related discipline.

Experience: Generally, 0 to 3 years of related experience.
