The Opportunity:

Join the Client Solutions Team at Hamilton Lane as an Associate and contribute to the development of the firm’s business in the Nordics. The Associate will assist in providing support to Hamilton Lane’s clients and to business development aspects related to the management of our institutional and private wealth prospect relationships in the Nordics, working directly with and supporting the Head of Nordics and Vice President, Client Solutions. 

Your responsibilities will be to:

Act as internal support for various sales and client related activities including:

  • Maintaining sales activities and new business pipeline in the CRM
  • Managing the coordination efforts for presentations and meetings with prospects and clients, including follow up data.
  • Assisting in the creation of presentation materials
  • Attend and document virtual and in person prospect / client meetings and onsites
  • Help organise investment road shows and events in conjunction with client solutions and events teams
  • Monitor periodicals to identify published searches for new business opportunities
  • Assist the RFP team in reviewing, editing, and submitting of RFPs,
  • Work directly with other representatives throughout the firm to ensure excellent level of client service
  • Collect and analyze data related to prospective client proposals and report trends and findings to senior management.  This includes but is not limited to: Activity, Sales Reporting, Pipeline Management, Pricing, Marketing, Fundraising Updates
  • Collect and analyze intel on competitors and create deliverables to the business development and product managers
  • Other sales-related projects as necessary
  • Support HL’s strategic business plans for the Nordics with the goal of growing partnerships and contribute to generating revenues.
  • Support the firm’s intermediary relationships including client outreach and engagement, follow ups and client service-related initiatives.
  • Develop and grow your investment and private markets knowledge to help position Hamilton Lane Funds in the market.
  • As the role is based in a small regional office, the expectation is to offer support to both the sales activity but also to the client management activity for HL Sweden’s local clients.

Your background will include:

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ postgraduate experience in financial services
  • Experience in Private Markets and/or PW Management a plus (not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in Swedish and in English
  • Good understanding of capital structures, different financial instruments and basic portfolio construction preferable
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills (data analysis, numerical skills, problem solving etc.)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs essential (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Exceptional organization, priority management, strong attention to details, ability to multi-task, and work across time zones
  • Desire to work as part of a high performing team with a strong focus on client needs
  • Collaborative approach
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Resourcefulness; Self-starter approach, entrepreneurial and competitive disposition

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior knowledge of private markets
  • Investment experience

Travel Requirements: The candidate is expected to travel from time to time, mostly within the Nordics to attend client and / or prospect meetings. Also expected to travel to HL London office about twice a year.
