Overview:
If you're looking for a dynamic and high impact analytical finance role in a profitable, exponentially growing company, we’re hiring. We are seeking an Associate to help drive capital and risk management. The position will play a key role in building and deploying quantitative models for senior leadership to make well informed decisions regarding insurance risk levels, reinsurance purchasing, and capital structures. This is a hybrid role based in Seattle.
What you’d be doing:
- Supporting executive decision making by developing financial models.
- Participating in strategic reviews of insurance portfolios and related carrier capital
- Developing and deploying decision tools for evaluating portfolio decisions
- Systematizing and supporting the evaluation of proprietary, rating agency and regulatory capital requirements.
- Developing strong subject matter expertise and quantitative skills relating to catastrophe risk.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- At least 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis.
- Intermediate (or better) Excel skills, with a strong interest in further developing these skills.
- Strong initiative and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to communicate orally and in writing regarding financial performance.
- Able to manage competing priorities and keep well organized documentation.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Experience in property insurance, accounting or probabilistic risk analysis.
- A degree from a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Bachelors or Masters in: Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
- Familiar with SQL and an analytical programming language like Python or R
