SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Capital & Risk Analyst. As part of our Capital & Risk Management Analytics (CARMA) team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we manage risk, deploy capital, and drive growth. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence reinsurance strategies, portfolio optimization, and executive decision-making. What you’d be doing:
- Training CARMA Associates to produce general and carrier-specific KPIs.
- Managing and reviewing metrics and reports produced by Associates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supporting executive decision making by developing and implementing financial models.
- Guiding strategic reviews of insurance portfolios and related carrier capital.
- Developing and deploying decision tools for evaluating portfolio decisions.
- Systematizing and supporting the evaluation of proprietary, rating agency, and regulatory capital requirements.
- Developing strong subject matter expertise and quantitative skills relating to catastrophe risk.
- Leading cross-department collaboration as it pertains to reinsurance modeling and placement.
- Providing Novel leadership with regular updates on capital needs.
- Developing tools to quantify areas of interest across various carrier portfolios.
- Ad hoc job duties and projects as assigned.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, risk management, or related fields.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with SQL and at least one analytical programming language (e.g., Python, R).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Initiative, curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Experience in property insurance, reinsurance, or catastrophe risk modeling.
- An advanced degree (Master’s) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to capital management, rating agency models, or regulatory frameworks.
- Experience mentoring or training junior team members.
