Summary:
The Hartford's Operational Risk Management (ORM) team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for risk management to join the Business Resilience Office (BRO). The Business Resilience Office is responsible for strengthening organizational resilience by ensuring critical business operations, technology services, and third-party providers can effectively withstand and recover from disruptions.
In this role, the Associate Business Resiliency Analyst will support the execution of The Hartford's enterprise vendor resiliency program. The associate will assist in conducting vendor resiliency assessments, supporting issue management and risk reporting activities, contributing to resiliency processes, and helping evaluate the resilience capabilities of critical third parties. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams and supporting initiatives aligned with The Hartford's operational resilience and risk management objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and execution of vendor resiliency risk assessments and on-going monitoring activities to evaluate third-party resilience capabilities and identify potential gaps.
- Support coordination of additional vendor resiliency program activities and stakeholder engagement (e.g., contract negotiations, external stakeholder communications).
- Manage vendor resiliency issue tracking activities (e.g., documenting assessment results, remediation plans, risk acceptances) to support program standards and governance requirements.
- Develop and oversee resiliency reporting and metrics to provide visibility into vendor resiliency risks and issues management activities to support program monitoring, data quality, and leadership reporting.
- Maintain and update vendor resiliency program documentation (e.g., procedures, templates) to support consistent risk assessment execution and reporting.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vendor resiliency practices (e.g., program maturity, training, AI opportunities).
- Perform research on vendor resiliency risk practices, regulatory requirements, industry trends and emerging risks.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, preferably in financial services. Some experience with resiliency, vendor management, and/or third party risk management preferred.
- Ability to analyze business problems, provide recommendations, and propose solutions
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results
- Strong oral and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with business partners while working independently to deliver results
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with resiliency tools, risk assessment tools or GRC governance platforms (such as Archer) is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or a related field is required
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
