Job Overview:
The Associate Billing Manager (Denial) is responsible for training billing staff and overseeing their duties, making sure denials are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion. Must have knowledge of all aspects of billing including how to work the A/R, denials, contracting with insurance companies, enrolling in ERA’s and EFT’s, claim scrubbing and upfront claim denials. This position requires the ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyzes denial data and coordinate denial recovery responsibilities
- Identifies, analyzes and researches frequent root causes of denials and develops corrective action plans for resolution of denials
- Identifies and pursues opportunities for improvement within the billing department
- Assist in training staff members, billing and covering as needed during vacations
- Contracting with insurance companies, setting up ERA’s and EFT’S
- Diligently works on collections ensuring the practice is receiving payments to the maximum level possible
- Post manual/electronic insurance and patient payments
- Provides updates and communicates billing/denial issues to billing staff
- Problem solves and issues that come up independently
- Performs customer service for routine patients and other inquiries
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies/guidelines and billing software
- Responsible for contributing to company oversight and information security functions as outlined in employee handbook under Remote Employee HIPPA Guidelines
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in all aspects of billing
- Experience in contracting with insurance companies, setting up ERA’s and EFT’s
- Experience of working in a hospital or large physician clinic
- Can handle multiple tasks at the same time and capable of switching priorities as needed
- Strong computer skills’, proficient in working with Excel spreadsheets
- Demonstrates strong leadership ability
- Strong customer service skills
- Self-Starter and capable of working independently at home
- Must be patient, empathetic, reliable and flexible
- Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions to create a positive experience
- Adheres to DocGo policies, Exudes confidence and positive image
- Understanding of all HIPPA regulations and the need to strictly adhere to them
Physical Requirements:
- Remote office work with prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
- Viewing monitors for long periods of time which may cause eye strain
- Freedom to get up and move from workspace as needed.
