Fiffik Law Group, a tech-forward statewide law firm, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our team to establish and lead our estate planning practice in the Philadelphia market. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about helping individuals and families protect their assets, preserve wealth, and plan for the future.
As the firm's dedicated Associate Attorney in Estate Planning, you will play a key role in building and growing this practice area while working closely with firm leadership. You will have an existing pipeline of clients and referrals to support your success, along with mentorship, training, and business development support from the Managing Partner and in-house marketing team. In addition to estate planning matters, this role will support related estate, trust, probate, and civil litigation matters as needed, providing a well-rounded legal practice.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite in our Philadelphia office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their unique personal, family, and financial circumstances.
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable living trusts, asset protection and Medicaid trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Develop asset protection and wealth preservation strategies for individuals and families.
- Counsel clients regarding long-term care planning, Medicaid planning, and asset preservation opportunities.
- Assist clients with trust funding and estate plan implementation.
- Represent clients in probate, estate, trust, guardianship, and related litigation matters, including court appearances, hearings, and dispute resolution proceedings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff across the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions for clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and trusted legal guidance.
- Participate in networking, community outreach, educational presentations, and other business development activities.
- Work closely with firm leadership and the marketing team to expand the firm's estate planning presence in the Philadelphia market.
- Meet established performance, client service, and business development goals while helping grow the practice.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 3 years of estate planning experience within a law firm environment.
- Experience drafting and administering revocable trusts, asset protection and Medicaid trusts, wills, and related estate planning documents.
- Experience handling probate, trust, estate, guardianship, or other civil litigation matters preferred.
- Experience with Medicaid planning, Medical Assistance applications, crisis planning, and long-term care planning preferred.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, trust administration, asset protection strategies, and probate procedures.
- Courtroom experience, including hearings, motion practice, and client advocacy, preferred.
- Excellent communication, client counseling, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with firm leadership and support staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Competitive salary based on experience, plus eligibility to earn a performance bonus based on productivity (service collections).
