The Role
Presidio Cloud Solutions helps customers adopt cloud, build cloud-native solutions, and accelerate business outcomes. We are growing our Cloud Migration engineering team within the Presidio Cloud Solutions Group. Our service offerings range from management and strategic consulting to technology implementation and through to enhancement/integration/support of the solutions we deliver.
Migration Execution & Implementation (Mandatory):
- Proven hands-on experience in design and executing cloud migration projects across Mobilize, Migrate & Modernize phases:
- Design , Lead and execute migration waves — server, database, and application workloads — from kick-off to cutover and hypercare
- Working knowledge of 7R migration strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, etc.) to implement the approach defined by the architect
- Hands-on execution of application portfolio discovery and dependency mapping using migration tooling
- Build and maintain detailed wave plans, cutover runbooks, rollback procedures, and go/no-go checklists
- Support entire team and delivery managers during the Assess/Mobilize phase by providing technical inputs, effort estimates, and tooling recommendations
Migration Tools & Services (Mandatory):
- Hands-on experience with AWS-native and third-party migration tooling:
- AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) – server lift-and-shift migrations
- AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) & Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)
- AWS Migration Hub – tracking and orchestrating migrations
- AWS Application Discovery Service (ADS) – on-premises discovery & dependency analysis
- Third-party tools: ModelizeIT, CloudEndure, Carbonite Migrate, Zerto, or equivalent
- Data migration: AWS DataSync, Snowball Edge, Transfer Family for large-scale data movement
Cloud – AWS (Mandatory):
- Strong AWS hands-on skills to Design, implement, configure, and validate migrated workloads:
- Core services: VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling
- Landing Zone design and AWS Control Tower for multi-account governance
- Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and VPN for hybrid network connectivity
- AWS Well-Architected Framework – applying pillars during migration validation
- Cloud Security best practices: encryption, IAM least privilege, Security Hub, GuardDuty
- Scripting proficiency: Python, Bash, PowerShell for migration automation
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (Mandatory):
- Hands-on experience automating post-migration infrastructure provisioning:
- Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning and drift detection
CI/CD (Mandatory):
- Experience setting up or integrating CI/CD pipelines as part of migration modernization:
- Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Pipeline design for application re-deployment post-migration
- Integration with source control: AWS CodeCommit, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
Containers & Orchestration (Good to have):
- Experience with containerization as part of replatform/refactor migration strategies:
- Docker & Docker Compose for containerizing migrated applications
- Kubernetes (EKS / ECS) for orchestration of containerized workloads
- Helm Charts for Kubernetes application packaging
- OpenShift for enterprise container platforms
Stakeholder management, Consulting and Communication
- Strong client-facing skills are a core requirement for this role. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable at a whiteboard with engineers and in a conversation with business executives.
- Conduct application questionnaire sessions and discovery workshops with client IT teams to gather migration requirements.
- Prepare and deliver clear, well-structured technical presentations — HLDs, LLDs, migration roadmaps — to technical and business audiences.
- Act as a trusted technical point of contact for clients during assessment and mobilize phases.
- Collaborate with delivery managers to communicate project status, risks, and decisions to client stakeholders.
- Support proposal development by contributing architecture inputs, effort estimates, and technical write-ups.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; maintain professionalism and confidence in all client interactions.

Responsibilities:
- Develop HLDs, LLDs, migration roadmaps, and wave plans in collaboration with delivery leads and engineers.
- Own the complete migration architecture for complex, multi-workload client engagements from pre-sales through delivery completion.
- Lead end-to-end migration architecture for assigned engagements — own discovery, design, build, migration execution, and post-migration validation.
- Conduct client-facing discovery workshops, application questionnaire sessions, and dependency mapping exercises.
- Design and document cloud target-state architectures, migration strategies, and phased roadmaps.
- Provide hands-on implementation support during migration waves — actively troubleshoot replication, connectivity, and compatibility issues.
- Present architecture designs and migration plans to client technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Act as technical governance lead — review implementation work, enforce architecture standards, and resolve technical escalations.
- Build and configure pre-migration cloud environments (landing zones, networking, security baselines, shared services).
- Create and maintain wave plans, cutover runbooks, rollback procedures, and go/no-go checklists.
- Implement post-migration monitoring (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) and observability dashboards.
- Collaborate with lead engineers, delivery managers, and customer success teams to ensure delivery quality.
- Mentor junior engineers on AWS best practices, migration tools, and automation techniques.
- Contribute to internal accelerators, runbooks, and reusable delivery assets.
- Represent Presidio's technical capabilities in workshops, client advisory sessions, and partner forums.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for engagement expansion based on client needs and technology landscape.
