Primary Purpose of Role
We currently have an opening for GL Accountant at our facility in Lugoff, SC. The individual selected for this role will assist in month end close, forecasting, consolidating, and analyzing the financial data for multiple facilities. The accountant will interact frequently across departments and functions as well as be assigned to support special projects and ad hoc requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely input of journal entries and management of the monthly closing process
- Assist with accurate and timely preparation of internal management reports
- Perform queries and upload data to facilitate systems interface
- Prepare and validate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Prepare financial schedules used for quarterly external reporting
- Develop working knowledge of plant activities
- Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Perform self-assessment testing of internal controls when needed
- Provide support for plant controllers, financial analysts, and operations, as needed
- Facilitate requests from internal and external auditors, providing detailed and reliable information
- Assist in consolidation and analysis of daily Plant Performance Trends
- Respond timely to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis and decision support
- Collaborate with Shared Service groups to standardize and improve processes
- Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree is required, Accounting degree is preferred
- Experience in a shared service or plant operations is preferred
- Flexible schedule, must be able to travel and work extra hours when necessary
- 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
- SAP experience a PLUS
