About the Role:
The Associate Director (“AD”) to be located in Basel, Switzerland and responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of Neurocrine Switzerland GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: NBIX).This will include responsibility for statutory & management accounting, internal controls system, treasury, reporting, payroll, expenses and tax/VAT compliance. The AD will also lead the development of the finance function to ensure it is meeting the ongoing needs of the growing business in Switzerland and potential new subsidiaries in UK and Europe, while serving as the primary finance liaison with the US headquarters.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Responsible for the development and delivery of monthly management accounts, including departmental variances and relevant commentary, in line with the monthly Finance timetable
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Swiss Code of Obligation accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Responsible for day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, VAT, payroll, cash forecasting, and revenue and cost management
Establish an internal control system in-line with Swiss Code of Obligation
Assesses current accounting operations and optimizes financial processes leveraging the company's ERP system to support business growth.
Manage year-end audits and statutory accounts for the Swiss subsidiary
Responsible for the preparation of year-end financial statements and coordination of external audit in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligation accounting standards
Assist with the development and management of annual budget and forecasts for the Swiss operations in collaboration with US headquarters
Serves as the primary finance lead for the Swiss entity and the US headquarters
Work with the Corporate Tax function to assess impact of changes in tax legislation and ensure tax compliance and timely completion of any necessary returns
Work closely with supply chain as finance business partner in the management of the value chain of the products assigned to the Swiss entity
Provision of ad-hoc information and support to the senior management team as required
Support compliance of finance and company secretarial activities with all applicable rules, regulation and guidance
Support coordination of Board Meeting Schedule & Agendas
Knowledge of Swiss accounting standards, tax regulations, and business practices
Experience working in a multinational environment with cross-cultural teams
Fluent in spoken and written English and German, additional languages are an asset
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with US headquarters
Requires certain level of flexibility to work off hours to accommodate business needs of US headquarters
May be required to travel to the US from time to time for training, knowledge sharing, company events, etc
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office and ERP (NetSuite and Coupa Preferred)
Hard-working, detail-oriented nature able to work with minimal supervision
Able to assume responsibility, follow-through, meet commitments and use good judgment
