About the Role & ProgramThis position provides technical support for the implementation and sustainment of Disney developed Assistive Technology services for Guests with Disabilities at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Assistive Technology services are Assistive Listening, Handheld Captioning, Video Captioning, and Audio Description.
This internship is a full-time, 6-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2027 through June 2027.
What You Will DoAs an intern you will partner and interact with various departments to provide an exceptional experience for Guests with disabilities using the Assistive Technology services.
Learn the technical theory of operation of the Assistive Technology services offered at the Walt Disney World Resort
Support a fleet of PDA-style handheld devices that provide Assistive Technology services
Investigate and troubleshoot in-park infrastructure
Work with Design and Engineering and Engineering Services to assist with new installations and repairs
Audit Assistive Technology Services for content accuracy
Maintain accurate guest and cast information materials
Assist with special projects including audits, photo documentation, and the creation of maintenance materials
Support in-park tours and demonstrations
Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Discretion in handling confidential information
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Candidates must have a valid U.S. Driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications & SkillsBackstage experience, especially throughout attractions, at the Walt Disney World Resort
Experience working in theater, dance, music or show production environments
AV technical services experiences
Previous experience supporting services or technology for people with disabilities
Experience with CAD software, Issue Tracker, Wikis, XML and Python
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related major preferred
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization.
This internship is a full-time, 6-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2027 through June 2027.
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area.
Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work with a personal vehicle.
Able to provide own reliable transportation to/from work, including travel to various locations across the Walt Disney World property throughout the day.
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $31.00 per hour.
