Job Summary:
The Assistant Vice President, Data Analytics in the Chief Data Office (CDO) of Information Technology Divisions leads the planning, coordination and delivery of data analytics projects to incrementally enable the HKEX data strategy and vision, and build out our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).Job Duties:
Key duties span across various technical delivery and project management responsibilities in the data projects. The role applies technology skills in enabling capabilities like data ingestion, data modelling, data governance, data visualization and analytics toolset. The role requires a strong technical background in data technologies as well as excellent project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, meeting high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams and manage end-to-end delivery of data analytics projects, from inception to deployment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver data platform capabilities, prioritizing requirements based on business value and mitigation of data risks
- Manage data initiatives by tracking progress and risks against scope, schedule, and cost, in coordination with business and technology teams
- Promote compliant and high-quality data reuse on the enterprise platform by incrementally delivering functionalities across the data lifecycle, including data access control, data lineage, data quality, and data analytics
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to support implementation and delivery activities on the data platform
- Drive the implementation with cloud and open-source capabilities to enable data management and data governance
- Apply hybrid project management approaches, leveraging agile tools within SDLC phases
- Coordinate with the data engineering function to ensure efficient use of technical tools and internal resources
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 6 years of experience in data analytics, IT development or project management, preferably within large enterprises and the capital markets or financial services industry.
- Possess stronger technical capabilities and proven experience in team management and project delivery.
- Well-versed in SDLC disciplines, with experience in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
- Solid technical background with hands-on experience in software development and data-related technologies, such as multi-tier service-oriented architecture, data modelling, and data visualization.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture requirements and end-to-end technology stacks
- Proficient in JupyterHub or equivalent data science workbenches
- Familiarity with native cloud technologies (e.g., Huawei, Alibaba, AWS, Azure)
- Familiar with data security, data lineage and data management tools, such as LDAP, OAuth, Keycloak, and OpenMetadata
- Familiar with data management, data governance, and data quality standards
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Agile, Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, cloud, or data-related certifications are advantageous
