This is a senior Actuarial role focused on pricing, profitability, and analytical support for management liability products, including Directors & Officers (D&O), Errors & Omissions (E&O), Cyber, and Financial Institutions. The individual will have a portfolio-management minded approach and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with underwriters at a variety of levels. There is the possibility of managing one to two actuarial analysts, dependent on the candidate’s experience and interest level in managing.
This teammate will take ownership of specific areas of the business and have the freedom to design new analyses or implement improvements. Depending on the teammate’s skills, this could encompass pricing models, portfolio analyses, and database management.

- Communicate findings clearly and effectively to underwriting, product, and senior leadership audiences, bridging technical detail with business implications
- Partner closely with underwriting and product teams to support pricing decisions, new initiatives, and portfolio management
- Recalibrate benchmark premiums, loss costs, and pricing assumptions based on emerging experience, market conditions, and underwriting strategy
- Perform detailed profitability and performance analyses across Executive & Professional lines, evaluating results by product, segment, limit profile, and industry
- Lead rate change analyses
- Build, enhance, and maintain rating tools and raters used by underwriters
- Execute ad hoc data pulls and exploratory analyses to respond to underwriting, claims, and management requests
- Identify opportunities to redesign, streamline, or improve pricing and analytical processes to support growth and profitability
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- FCAS designation required
- 7 – 10+ year of experience
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality analysis with limited oversight
- Demonstrated expertise in raters, pricing models, and large, complex datasets
- Proficiency in SQL, R and VBA strongly preferred.
- Proven strength in interpreting results, forming clear conclusions, and effectively communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Effective time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
BHSI Offers:
- A competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates.
- A dynamic, action oriented, and thoughtful environment centered on always doing the right thing for our customers, teammates, and our other stakeholders.
- A purposely non-bureaucratic organization that embraces simplicity over complexity and emphasizes individual excellence in a team framework.
- Benefits that support your life and well-being, which include:
- Comprehensive Health, Dental and Vision benefits
- Disability Insurance (both short-term and long-term)
- Life Insurance (for you and your family)
