Job Description

Summary: Create Airway Bills for all shipments, including regular and freight pickups. Create shipping barcodes via customer request and perform cycle counts. Coordinate priority shipments with internal departments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Performing clerical duties as needed, such as but not limited to, date entry, filing, monitoring and tracking of shipments, and ensuring accuracy of rate charges,
  • Maintaining department records regarding destination, weight and charges on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Performing administrative duties, such as but not limited to, generating import/export files, assisting with tracking and expediting freight, freight/ carrier invoice auditing, and coordinating with carriers and internal departments.
  • Creating bills of lading, shipment reports and processing all incoming and outgoing shipment records.
  • Maintaining records of overcharges and damages to goods in transit.
  • Familiar with all customs and international shipment regarding rules and regulations.
  • International Export/Import shipment experience.
  • Oversee the shipments and coordinate with packers.
  • Ensures shipments are executed by the ship date and turned within 48 hours.
  • Actively participates in monthly shipment goals.
  • Assists in cost reduction efforts for transportation and supplies.
  • Works with transportation companies and brokers to resolve any delays.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
  • Other duties with the work as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years related experience or equivalent
  • Experience with international export/import shipments and customs regulations
  • Experience creating airway bills, bills of lading, shipping barcodes, and shipment reports
  • Clerical skills: data entry, filing, shipment monitoring, and rate charge accuracy
  • Experience coordinating with carriers, brokers, packers, and internal departments to resolve delays
  • Experience performing cycle counts and maintaining shipment records (weights, destinations, charges, overcharges, damages)
  • Ability to meet shipment timelines (execute by ship date and process within 48 hours) and participate in shipment goals
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, first shift
  • U.S. Person eligibility per ITAR/EAR access restrictions
