The Tax team at Grab plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and stays updated on changes to provide strategic tax advice for business operations. Their role is important for maintaining Grab's financial health and reputation, directly influencing business decisions and operational efficiency.
Get to Know the Role
As an Assistant Tax Manager, you will report to the Tax Managers for Singapore and Malaysia. You will be responsible for encompass preparing and submitting tax estimates, performing tax provision and deferred tax calculations, and managing GST/SST reconciliation and filing. You will also coordinate with the shared services team for tax installment payments and provide necessary information to tax agents for annual corporate income tax filings. Additionally, you will help prepare transfer pricing documentation and offer ad hoc tax advice for new projects. This role is fully onsite and you will be based in office in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will prepare and submit initial and revised tax estimates (e.g., Form CP204 / CP204A / ECI).
- You will perform quarterly tax provision and deferred tax calculations.
- You will conduct GST/SST reconciliation and filing.
- You will coordinate with the shared services team on the payment of tax installments.
- You will help prepare transfer pricing documentation and offer ad hoc tax advice for new business launches.
- You will leverage Generative AI (GAI) tools for data analytics and reconciliation to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance, with a focus on Malaysia tax matters. Experience in Singapore tax compliance is good to have but not mandatory.
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Prior experiences in performing detailed tax provision and deferred tax calculations.
- Experienced in cross-functional teams and external tax agents collaborations.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with GAI tools is good to have.
