About the RoleAs an Assistant Systems Administrator Graduate, you'll play a key role in keeping the business-critical systems behind Mimecast’s Global Technical Services running smoothly, securely, and reliably. This is your chance to work with enterprise-grade tools, support global teams, and build a strong foundation in systems administration. Under the mentorship of an experienced senior systems administrator, you'll contribute to the day-to-day management of essential platforms, such as ticketing systems, telephony, knowledge management, log analysis, and lab environments.

What You’ll Do- Systems Support: Assist with monitoring, maintaining, and managing core enterprise systems to ensure seamless operations. Escalate complex issues to senior team members as needed.
- First-Line Escalation: Be the go-to person for initial troubleshooting of system issues, learning when and how to escalate.
- Automation & Scripting: Learn to write and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks, using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash, with guidance from your mentor.
- Helpdesk Platforms: Contribute to the upkeep and configuration of ticketing tools, such as Zendesk, ensuring support systems run efficiently.
- Reporting & Insights: Generate reports on team performance and system health, while identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Access Management: Support user access provisioning and reviews to maintain security and compliance.
- Log Analysis: Gain hands-on experience working with log-management platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sumo Logic) to identify and resolve issues.
- Documentation: Keep processes and knowledge base articles clear, organized, and up to date for the team.
- Testing & Quality Checks: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when new tools or changes are introduced.
