The Assistant Storekeeper supports the Storekeeper in receiving, storing, issuing, and recording supplies and equipment. The role ensures accurate inventory records, proper stock levels, and compliance with hotel procedures. In the absence of the Storekeeper, the Assistant Storekeeper oversees the daily operations of the Store Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and verify goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
• Check quantity, quality, and expiry dates of received items.
• Record all receipts, issues, returns, and stock movements in the inventory system.
• Ensure store requisitions are properly approved and goods are issued accurately.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation.
• Maintain proper stock levels and identify slow-moving, non-moving, and near-expiry items.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly inventory reports and reconciliations.
• Ensure all relevant purchasing and receiving documents are submitted to Accounts.
• Assist with unloading, transporting, issuing, and physical verification of goods.
• Maintain food safety, inventory control, and hotel accounting standards.
• Keep all stock records updated daily.
• Ensure proper handling and use of materials and equipment.
• Assist with training and other duties assigned by management.
• Maintain good working relationships with all departments.
• Take charge of Store Department operations during the Storekeeper’s absence.

• 1 to 2 years' experience in stores, inventory, purchasing, Previous experience in a hotel, resort, Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or Business Administration. Experience with inventory software (Material Control, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
