Our client is an established distributor of Laboratory Supplies, Scientific Hardware, and Quality Control Solutions in Malaysia is seeking a Commercial Sales Leader to partner with the Divisional Lead. This role balances hands-on account management with team mentorship and strategic growth projects across industrial testing, food manufacturing, and life science sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manage key accounts to foster long-term commercial relationships across Malaysia.
- Own individual revenue targets while contributing to the overall performance of the division.
- Prospect and secure new client opportunities within target accounts and industrial territories.
- Draft commercial proposals, drive active sales pipelines, and convert deals across the complete portfolio.
- Spearhead commercial launches for newly introduced product lines, diagnostic assays, and international brands.
- Build target prospect lists and engage end-users directly from initial contact to account conversion.
- Partner with application specialists to schedule on-site product demonstrations and technical evaluations.
- Work alongside marketing teams to run targeted campaigns and evaluate market feedback to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Assist in guiding, mentoring, and upskilling sales executives to hit individual and division goals.
- Support onboarding activities for incoming commercial team members.
- Track key sales metrics, activity levels, and pipeline health to proactively address sales gaps.
- Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Divisional Sales Manager.
- Maintain strong commercial and technical command of microbiology media, rapid testing platforms, laboratory autoclaves, cold storage units, and real-time cold chain monitoring systems.
- Serve as the primary liaison for global vendor principals regarding pricing adjustments, inventory levels, stock updates, and quarterly performance reviews.
- Collaborate with international brand partners on product training, application support, and joint market development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or equivalent commercial experience in scientific sales.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven B2B sales experience handling scientific equipment, laboratory consumables, or industrial testing solutions.
- Demonstrated success in meeting individual sales quotas, managing accounts, and launching new brands into local market niches.
- Strong coaching presence, sound pipeline analysis capabilities using CRM tools, and clear communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Possess personal transport and willingness to travel for client site visits, vendor meetings, and product demonstrations.
