Job Description

Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.

The role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our projects are executed to the highest standards, in line with our Business Management System. You’ll support various project management activities, maintain rigorous health and safety standards, and oversee environmental protection measures. Working closely with the Project Delivery Manager, you’ll identify training needs and contribute to the safe, efficient, and profitable completion of projects. You’ll also handle budgetary control, client communication, and coordinate fieldwork, vessel operations, and resource utilization, all while adhering to our company processes and signing authority levels.

You’ll collaborate with a range of technical experts and support functions to ensure we have the right support mechanisms and specialist knowledge for effective project delivery. You’ll coordinate and work with internal stakeholders, using an issue escalation route via the Project Delivery Manager, Project Directors, and Service Line Directors when necessary. This teamwork ensures that all projects are delivered efficiently, maintaining high standards and achieving our project goals.

You’ll have functional responsibility over project teams when on assignment. You’ll plan, organize, control, and lead these teams to achieve an optimal balance between cost, time, quality, benefit, and risk. You’ll develop project documentation, lead risk management processes, monitor project budgets and schedules, and ensure effective communication of project progress and issues with clients, internal partners, and sub-contractors. This comprehensive approach will ensure all aspects of project management are covered, leading to successful project outcomes.

Who we’re looking for:

You will have a good level of experience in a project delivery or commercial role, and a good understanding of project management. This role is perfect for someone who has been actively involved in managing projects and is ready to take on more responsibility in ensuring high-quality project execution.

The ideal candidate should have achieved or be working towards a Project Management Qualification such as Prince II, PMQ, or PMP. This certification demonstrates a solid understanding of project management principles and practices, which is crucial for maintaining the high standards we expect in our projects.

Proficiency in English is essential, along with an independent level of proficiency in the local language of the home unit. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must, as you will need to effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, being computer literate with proficient use of Office 365 software, particularly Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project, is necessary to manage project documentation and reporting efficiently.

What we offer:

Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.
  • Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme
  • Flexible working hours and the potential to work 2 days a week from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies. (amend as required)
  • Option to lease an electric car.
  • Private Medical insurance.
  • Healthcare cash plan.
