Assistant Program Manager for Licensed Group Home

WCMHS is seeking an experienced Assistant Program Manager for a licensed facility that serves adults with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. This role helps ensure that individuals build independence, maintain routines, and feel supported in their homes. The person in this position trains and provides guidance to the Residential Support Specialists, coordinating staffing and stepping in when necessary to ensure consistent care. 

By fostering a calm, engaging, and responsive environment, including during moments of challenge or crisis, this individual directly contributes to residents’ well-being, dignity, and quality of life while modeling strong communication, adaptability, and compassionate leadership.

Summary of Duties

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Support Agreements (ISAs), ensuring residents’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality are upheld
  • Coordinate and manage staff schedules to ensure consistent coverage and continuity of care
  • Train, mentor, and support Residential Behavioral Support Specialists in daily operations and best practices
  • Respond effectively to behavioral or medical emergencies, following established safety procedures and protocols
  • Provide direct support and therapeutic supervision to residents as needed, including administering medication in accordance with agency protocols
  • Document services, incidents, and treatment progress accurately in electronic medical records

Compensation and Benefits

WCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, a generous retirement plan match, and an industry-leading paid time off package. The agency provides 12.5 flexible paid holidays and accrual of 12 paid vacation days in the first year of employment.

The starting pay range for this position is $23.83 to $24.80 per hour.

Qualifications

Summary of Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in human services, psychology, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in developmental services, residential support, or behavioral health
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff schedules and support team operations
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and behavior support strategies
  • Effective de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to deliver services and maintain treatment notes in English
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • Required certifications (CPR, First Aid, crisis prevention/intervention, medication administration) are provided by the agency and must be successfully completed

Workplace Conditions

Work takes place in home and community environments. Frequent transportation of residents, in agency-owned vehicles when available and in your own vehicle when necessary. Direct personal care requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
