Step Into Leadership & Make an Impact

Freedom Detox with Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Program Director to support the daily operations of our medically monitored detox program in Gastonia, NC. In this key leadership role, you'll work closely with the Executive Director to ensure exceptional client care, strong team performance, regulatory compliance, and efficient day-to-day operations. What You'll Do
  • Support daily program operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality client care

  • Collaborate with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs and improve program outcomes

  • Oversee resident services, including daily programming and client engagement

  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development

  • Create and manage staff schedules to maintain appropriate program coverage

  • Monitor documentation in the EMR for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

  • Ensure adherence to state, federal, and accreditation standards

  • Support audits, quality assurance initiatives, KPI tracking, and performance improvement efforts

  • Conduct chart reviews, observations, and compliance monitoring

  • Assist in developing and implementing program policies, procedures, and operational workflows

  • Step in to facilitate groups or provide operational support as needed

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and community partners

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Supervise Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), Housekeeping, and Dietary staff

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and progressive discipline when needed

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture

  • Promote employee engagement while maintaining high standards of client care and operational excellence

What We're Looking ForQualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred)

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment required

  • 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred

  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License required

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations
