The Assistant Professor of English (Creative Writing) teaches courses for the English Department, in creative writing and (as needed) literary studies. They also advise students; participate in accreditation processes; write for publication; assist in the development of internship relationships and student opportunities, including the college’s literary magazine; and participate in school- and college-wide service. They will teach courses and advise students for two semesters each year. The field is open, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in poetry. 

This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College. ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA (National Educational Association) and provides structure and support for all full-time faculty at Endicott College.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:

● Teach 24 credits per academic year -- 12 credits in both the fall and spring
semesters (4 lecture courses each semester, or equivalent).
● Advise up to 25 students.
● Attend department, school, and college meetings.

● Participate in accreditation processes.
● Engage in professional development, scholarship, research, and/or publishing.
● Assist in curriculum development.
● Participate in department, school, and college service.
● Maintain and post regular office hours.
● Perform other duties as required and as outlined in the Collective Bargaining
Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and
Endicott College.

Requirements/Qualifications
● Ph.D. or MFA in Creative Writing or a related field.
● Demonstrated excellence in teaching creative writing at the college level.
● Evidence of professional experience and/or active publication that enhance
teaching and deepen expertise in creative writing.
● Desire to work in a student-centered, teaching-oriented institution
