Job Overview:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for generating and supporting the Estimating Manager with all proposals for the Utility PV, DG PV, Battery Storage, and High Voltage projects. They will be responsible for collaborating with the Estimating Managers and Senior Estimators to develop the list of deliverables based on the RFP that are required for the proposal and ensure that all deliverables are received from the various stakeholders and then compile into a professional proposal. The Proposal Specialist will also collaborate with the sales and marketing team to continuously improve and update the design and look of proposal template documents.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Support each Lead Estimator and Estimating Manager with managing the proposal process from start to finish, beginning with customer introduction, and ending with the submission of a final product.
- Manage the proposal schedules via the six-week look ahead process. Maintain Pre-Construction proposal database of proposal pricing milestone dates, contract dates, and project information.
- Work with Account Manager to adhere to customer requirements, owning that the proposal is complete and complies with customer requests.
- Work with the Lead Estimator and department leads to collect, edit, proofread, and ensure capture strategy is implemented into each response.
- Customize each proposal to the opportunity, identifying areas where custom content is needed.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to create graphics and proposal templates using adobe creative suite for a higher level of effort.
- Tracking proposal statistics/ develop and undertake customer/sector research activities as appropriate.
- Maintain pre-construction proposal submission tracker, update with current pricing and proposal submissions
- Develop metrics to track and increase departments effectiveness (budgets, win rates, etc.)
- Lead proposal content effort
- Develop proposal department resource library of proposal tools, documents and graphics.
- Work independently, make decisions on best practices of the company and have authority.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business or other relevant discipline, Master's Degree preferred.
- Previous experience in prepositioning and proposal development for projects.
- At least 1-3 years of experience preparing clear and concise content and/or proposal submissions to meet marketing objectives, preferably in the Renewable Energy (Solar) industry.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and writing experience for marketing publications; able to craft high impact narratives.
- Understanding of graphic design and has an eye for communicating content visually.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Advanced MS Office capabilities (including Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
- Demonstrated capability to learn complex technical services and translate the information into easily understood written content.
- Self-starter able to collaborate with project management, business development, technical marketing, clients and administrative staff.
