We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the branch, including warehouse operations, inventory management, employee supervision, customer service, and operational performance. This role partners closely with branch leadership to drive efficiency, maintain inventory accuracy, support employee development, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Operations Leadership

  • Support the daily operations of the branch to ensure efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise warehouse associates and operational personnel
  • Partner with branch leadership to achieve operational goals, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with staffing, training, coaching, and performance management activities

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Support purchasing and inventory management activities
  • Monitor warehouse operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams regarding product availability and inventory needs
  • Audit warehouse processes and identify opportunities for improvement

Customer & Vendor Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendor partners
  • Resolve customer concerns and operational issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Support branch growth initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve service and operational effectiveness

Business & Team Support

  • Facilitate communication between warehouse, sales, customer service, and administrative teams
  • Support branch compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
  • Participate in associate training and development programs
  • Assist with branch reporting, budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Visit satellite locations as needed to support operational consistency and best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in operations, warehouse management, distribution, logistics, or branch operations
  • Leadership experience supervising and developing employees
  • Strong inventory management and process improvement skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in industrial distribution, energy, manufacturing, transportation, or related industries is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of operational KPIs and budget management
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills
