ENGINEERING A FRAMEWORK OF EXCELLENCE.

THE BEST OPERATIONS LEADERS

know every door before it's installed.

DuraServ is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager with residential entry door experience — someone who can run the schedule, lead the coordinators, manage subcontractors, and grow into full branch operational ownership.

This Is a Residential Operations Role — And It Demands Industry Knowledge.

DuraServ's AE Door operation installs and services residential entry doors and windows for homeowners and builders. Every customer commitment — delivered on time, measured correctly, installed to standard, and completed without a punch list left open — depends on an operations team that executes without gaps.

As Assistant Operations Manager for AE Door, you work directly alongside the Operations Manager to keep that operation running — coordinating daily schedules, supervising Service Coordinators, managing subcontractors, overseeing warehouse operations, and reinforcing the standards that define how this branch performs. You bring residential entry door and window experience to the role — including job site assessment and the pre-installation measurement accuracy that prevents costly errors in the field.

This isn't a stepping stone to something generic. It's a structured path to running a residential service department — for someone who already knows the product.

What You'll Do

Execute the Operation

  • Coordinate, implement, and execute daily schedules and project plans to guarantee all customer commitments are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality standards
  • Conduct daily workload reviews and dynamically adjust manpower to handle shifting priorities without losing momentum on existing installations or service calls
  • Oversee warehouse operations alongside the Assistant Operations Manager — Field, including equipment staging, stock parts ordering, purchase order processing, and strict inventory control

Lead the Team

  • Provide direct daily supervision to Service Coordinators — assigning duties, evaluating performance, and delivering active coaching to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage and oversee subcontractors through rigorous job site reviews, workmanship evaluations, and prompt completion of final punch lists — your standard is the standard
  • Reinforce and enforce all company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures across the department to maintain high standards of accountability

Build for Growth

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to drive service department expansion — managing administrative tasks and supporting the Technician Training Program
  • Actively engage in cross-functional branch service operations to develop your operational and leadership skills as part of a designated career advancement track

Who You Are

You know residential entry doors and windows — not from a brochure, but from measuring job sites, catching pre-installation errors before they become field problems, and holding subcontractors to the standard a homeowner expects.

  • Residential door and window experienced — you've worked in entry door and window installation or service; you understand the product, the job site, and the margin for error
  • Measurement-accurate — pre-installation measurement of entry doors and windows is a skill you've earned; you know that a wrong measurement before the installation is cheaper to fix than one after
  • Operationally minded — you think in schedules, priorities, and outcomes; a plan only matters if it gets executed, and you're the person who makes execution happen
  • A natural supervisor — you've led or coordinated people before; accountability, consistency, and coaching are how you build a reliable team
  • Adaptable under pressure — when priorities shift mid-day (and they will), you adjust without losing control of the commitments already in motion
  • Physically capable — this role includes office, warehouse, and field environments; frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 30 pounds are part of the job
  • Professionally ambitious — you see the AOM role as the path to OM, and you approach every day with the standard you want to be held to when you get there

What We're Looking For

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, field service, or a related operational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or coordinate people — you've assigned work, provided performance feedback, or managed subcontractors in a professional setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 for scheduling, documentation, and operational reporting
  • Ability to meet physical demands: office, warehouse, and field environments with lifting up to 30 pounds regularly

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience within the residential entry door and window installation or service industry — this is a meaningful differentiator for this role
  • Proven history of job site assessment including accurate pre-installation measurement of entry doors and windows
  • Background in scheduling, subcontractor management, or warehouse coordination in a residential service environment

What's in It for You
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • A stable, office-based role with no travel requirement
  • Direct development path toward the Operations Manager role — this position is intentionally structured as a leadership track
  • Daily exposure to scheduling, manpower management, warehouse, subcontractors, and customer commitments — everything you need to step up
  • A supervisory role from day one — you'll lead Service Coordinators and build the leadership instincts that define an OM

A Note to the Right Candidate.

If you've come up in the residential entry door and window industry — if you know what a wrong measurement costs, what a subcontractor who misses a punch list does to a customer relationship, and what it takes to keep an installation schedule running clean — you're exactly who this role was written for.

DuraServ's AE Door operation needs an AOM who brings field knowledge and operational discipline into a leadership track. The best Operations Managers in this space started where you are — and grew into the role by holding a standard nobody had to ask them to hold.

Engineering a framework of excellence. That's the standard here — and the standard you'll learn, hold, and eventually lead.

APPLY NOW — Residential Door Professionals Wanted.

Hit Apply. Tell us your residential door and window background, how you've managed subcontractors, and where you want to lead next.

Please note: This is NOT a remote or hybrid role. On-site presence at the branch is required. No planned business travel.
