WORK TYPE: Onsite - Varsity Spirit Office / Warehouse

LOCATION DETAILS:  Gilbert, Arizona 260 S. McQueen Road

WORK HOURS:

  • Standard in season working hours are Mon-Fri from 8am-4:30pm.
  • Off season working hours are Mon-Fri from 8am-6:30pm.
  • Availability to work weekend & off-hour events is required.  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

  • Event travel and attendance at staff meetings & trainings is required. Event travel will include overnight stays for events.
  • As part of the event operations team during the event season which runs from October thru April, this role is expected to be available to work 2-3 weekends per month.   

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Assistant Operational Support is an important member of our Varsity All Star Operations Team, providing support to all the operational members of this department and executing additional job functions.  This person should be a self starter, extremely organized, able to multi-task, and project oriented.

The Assistant Operational Support will represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist and work closely with the warehouse manager.
  • Assist Logistics Coordinators with inventory, transportation and supply chain processes.
  • Assist Event Coordinators with the organization of event details.
  • Assist Event Planners as they work with Event Coordinators.
  • Assist Production Coordinators with event preparation and equipment management.
  • Assist Logistics Coordinators with inventory, transportation, supply chain processes.
  • Assist Registration with customer service and data entry.
  • General clerical work and office management tasks.
  • Serve in various support roles at events.
  • Assist and/or lead Set up and Breakdown at events.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suites.
  • High level of customer service acumen.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in cheer/dance industry a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and event environment. 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Repetitive movement of the body is required on a regular basis. The position requires lifting of no less than 15-50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled environment. Ability to often lift heavy items is essential.

During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (five hours plus) is required.  The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message, and email is required.  The ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
