Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Nurse Unit Manager - Perioperative (ANUM) to lead and support our Perioperative Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and foster a supportive team environment within a leading healthcare organisation.
About the Role:
As an ANUM in our Perioperative Unit, you will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Services Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the operating theatre. You will play a crucial role in clinical leadership, staff development, and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team on the Nursing – Scrub/scout, Anaesthetic and Recovery Unit
- Assisting the Perioperative Services Manager with daily ward operations, resource management, and rostering.
- Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including new graduates and junior team members.
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and relevant clinical standards.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies within the unit.
About You:
You are a highly motivated Registered Nurse with significant experience in Perioperative Nursing, including previous leadership or supervisory experience. You possess excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, enabling you to lead with confidence and compassion. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates:
- Strong experience in Perioperative nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a senior nursing role.
- A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
- The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Proven ability to apply advanced clinical assessment, problem-solving, and organisational skills to manage complex perioperative patient care, prioritise competing demands, and respond appropriately to changing clinical situations
Remuneration
$59.16 - $61.11 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (VIC Associate Nurse Unit Manager yr1-yr2)
