Position Summary
The position requires an understanding of SEC/GAAP/STAT reporting and period-ending reporting processes and procedures. The team member will be responsible for preparation of quarterly and annual reports, on STAT & GAAP basis, Schedule B Mortgages Blue Book, Variance reconciliation, and annual statutory financial statements. This team member will also be involved in preparation of EV reporting and Mortgage Survey. This team member participates in special projects related to process improvements, process flow and system issues to prevent risk of inaccurate reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, & annual reporting for a several invested asset classes and investment vehicles (securities, mortgage loans, real estate, and investment subsidiaries). Reporting includes monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, footnote, MD&A and XBRL disclosures for SEC, GAAP or STAT audits.
- Prepare Quarterly & Annual NAIC Schedules (primarily schedule B), AVR and RBC report preparation and other NAIC footnote preparation.
- Prepare the reconciliation between ledger and subledger and ensure that STAT and GAAP numbers are in sync.
- Prepare financial statements for standalone investment companies.
- Partner with D&T, Internal Audit and SOX to achieve signoff on quarterly and annual footnotes, MD&A and investment subsidiary financial statements and disclosures.
- Prepare annual GAAP and STAT disclosure checklists.
- Review XBRL detail, block and table tags.
- Plan workflow for all deliverables in advance of quarter end.
- Prepare investment analytic attribution analyses.
- Gather information to anticipate and understand investment trends and transactions.
- Complete special requests and ad-hoc reports as requested.

CA, CPA
Experience
(In Years)
2 to 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting/Investments background.
Technical Skills
- Extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation and disclosures.
- Knowledge of US GAAP & US STAT accounting.
- Experience in financial services accounting/reporting preferred.
Other Critical Requirements Like Voice/ Non-Voice for Insurance Ops
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, solve problems and ability to meet deadlines are required.
- Must be able to work with multiple departments in the compilation of data and the reporting of financial information.
- Candidate must have strong oral and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills and be able to interact in an effective manner with all levels of personnel.
- Candidate should possess strong facilitation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build professional working relationships with senior management, line of business and functional area representatives and associates.
